EXCEL KEYBOARD SHORTUCTS

"Keyboard shortcuts with CTRL as a primary Key"

Here i have presented the excel keyboard shortcuts with CTRL as one of the primary key. Try remembering as many as possible. The best way to see the practical application of these shortcut keys is to try out them in excel. Write a number in a cell and keep trying out these combinations. Practice them for 3-4 times by looking at the sheet and after think of an activity that you want to do and then try to remember the keystroke required to accomplish the task. Do not move to the next blog in series until 80% of the shortcuts are successfully reproduced

Rule No 1

"Leave the mouse and focus on the keyboard"
Excel has loads of shortcuts which have the potential to make your life and work simpler. Learning these shortcuts is one of the key requirements for making financial models quickly and efficiently. Presented below are some of the shortcuts that i find particularly useful and handy. The reader should make a concerted effort in remembering the shortcuts.

The shortcuts that i am going to present here are easily available on a wide variety of websites. These shortcuts are grouped by the utility they serve. Here i have tried to present them according to key combinations for e.g. all shortcuts which require Ctrl to be pressed have been grouped together and presented. I believe it is much easier to see the formulas this way than trying to remember them utility wise.

About the blog name

The blog would deal with the nuances of excel modeling. I would talk about the functions that one can use to make the work easier and the shortcuts to speed up the entire exercise of modeling. Over the course of the blog i would also try to put some models that would prove to be useful during valuation exercises and project financing. So the site got its name "excelmodels". Well! that could have been a justification of the blog. But i would not lie.

I tried "excel modeling" and "financial modeling" which would better befit the activities that i plan to undertake but alas they were already taken for no good purpose. Probably kept for the sake of posterity for the future. So without blabbering too much on the name lets get started with the game.
